This award is presented to an academic leader or academic institution that has made a significant contribution to the formal education of students pursuing careers in local government. The award was established in the name of the longtime director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government.
John L. Daly, Director of the School of Public Affairs at the University of South Florida, was the recipient of this year’s award at the ICMA Annual Conference in Charlotte.
John Daly has been a member of the University of South Florida (USF) faculty since 1986 and the current director of public administration for USF’s School of Public Affairs. He has played a significant role in the advancement of students pursuing public sector careers in Florida. Many of FCCMA’s current managers were students of Dr. Daly’s.
Dr. Daly was also presented the FCCMA’s President’s Award at the Annual Conference in May.
Congratulations Dr. Daly!
