The FLC recognized the 2013 Home Rule Heroes at its annual conference held at the World Center Marriott in Orlando.
This award was created to recognize city officials who went above and beyond to advocate the FLC legislative agenda during this past legislative session. The award was presented to recipients at either their commission/council meeting or other municipal venue of their choice. This year’s recipients are: Michael Beedie, Fort Walton Beach City Manager; Russ Blackburn, Gainesville City Manager and FCCMA President; Marvin “Marc” Collins, Fort Myers Assistant City Manager; Lee Feldman, Fort Lauderdale City Manager; and Richard Reade, Palm Springs Village Manager and District IV Director.
