The FCCMA had a great year in 2017 and we are looking forward to an even better 2018. One of the top priorities you identified in the annual survey over a year ago was training. In recent months, the number of training opportunities was not only increased, but also the range of topics, locations and availability. Programs to focus on emerging professionals have been expanded and enhanced. There is more diversity on our Board and committees. ICMA agreed to hold the 2025 Annual Conference in Tampa, and there were many other accomplishments. All of this was done through the hard work and dedication of the Board members, chairs and members of FCCMA’s eight major committees and staff.
Next year promises to be even better. Winter Institute registrations are filling up fast as it indicates it will be one of the best so far. Planning is well underway for the Annual Conference as the President-Elect and his committee are lining up several exciting speakers and topics. Monthly webinars are being finalized and district training sessions are being scheduled.
I will begin the new year with deep gratitude for all that has been accomplished in 2017, for the commitment and dedication of our board members, for so many of you who serve on our committees and for our professional staff. Most of all, I am grateful for the honor and privilege to serve as your President. Together, we will make 2018 another great year.
