The potential for these devices to assist in government operations – from finding missing persons to monitoring environmental issues – is nearly unlimited. Companies all over the nation are starting businesses focusing on using drones for commercial activities, famously including Amazon’s “drone delivery” idea. Citizens are flying drones for fun and introducing a new generation to engineering and computing technology.
This is all happening against a backdrop of federal and state regulations that do not quite “fit” how drones operate in the National Airspace System. The regulations are complicated, but they can be understood. This presentation will unravel these issues and equip you to make informed policy decisions.
