FCCMA has developed great professional development opportunities that are being offered this fall. I hope you will consider attending some of these trainings.
The annual Fall Symposium will be held November 7th at the Lake Vista Recreation Center in St. Petersburg. The topic is “What Keeps Managers Up at Night?” This subject was developed from focus groups that met and discussed this topic. Click here if you would like to view the focus group report.
Symposium sessions include: Safety and Security in the Workplace; the Future of Transportation; Equity and Inclusion; and Organization Culture. Dramatic Solutions is a consulting firm that does drama-based training and will do an interactive session on equity and inclusion and organization culture. Register now for this training.
Two onsite trainings have also been planned for this fall. A training on “Emergency Management: Lessons Learned from Recent Hurricanes” will be held October 11th at the USF Campus in St. Petersburg. If you still need ethics training, don’t miss “Ethical Challenges Facing Local Governments in 2020,” scheduled for October 25th in Palm Beach Gardens. Click here to register for these trainings. The trainings October 11th and October 24th will be live-streamed for those unable to travel to the event. Both of these trainings will be recorded and will be available after the training.
If you plan to attend the ICMA Annual Conference, don’t miss the annual Florida dinner. This year the dinner will be held at Woolworth’s on 5th. This is the original Woolworth’s department store that underwent a massive restoration in 2018. The space features much of the original architecture, including the upper level mezzanine, gilded handrails and wall accents, and hand-laid tile. Click here to register.
Hope to see you at one of the events. Happy Fall!
