On Friday September 20, District VI held a training event at Florida Gulf Coast University. The topic was “Water Quality in Southwest Florida.” Speakers from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Florida Water Management District, City of Naples, Collier County and Monroe County reviewed the current state of water affairs in South Florida. In addition, they discussed available funding; past, current and future projects to protect this limited resource; and successful collaborative initiatives their agencies have been involved in.
