Is your organization in search of an intern? Do you already have an established intern program? Would you like to explore starting an intern program? The FCCMA Student Council Subcommittee is here to help. This year the FCCMA Student Council has put an emphasis on importance of internships as an integral part of developing the next generation of leaders.
If you have an existing internship program, please consider posting the opening on the FCCMA website. Recently the FCCMA website was enhanced to include an intern job board (https://fccma.org/Internships). This job board is where the Student Council Committee Members will try and spread the word to MPA programs and ICMA Student Chapters on where to go as a one stop shop to look for an internship in local government. In order for this effort to be successful, I am asking that you please remember to include the FCCMA site when you are in search of your next intern.
If you are thinking about starting an intern program but don’t have an existing intern program, the FCCMA Student Council is available to assist. Several template job descriptions are available and the Student Council also has faculty contacts at many of the MPA programs around the State to assist in marketing your internship.
The future of our profession depends on having qualified talent available to step up and the FCCMA Student Council is here to help. Please contact Carol Russell (crussell@flcities.com) to find out more information.
