FCCMA will hold an onsite training session on “CCNA and the Legal Requirements for Purchasing Services in Florida.” The session will be held at the St. Petersburg Water Resource Building on March 27 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. This session will cover ICMA Practice Area 5: Performance Measurement/Management and Quality Assurance. The cost to attend is $49 per person, $15 for students. Lunch is included.
One of the most important responsibilities of government is securing professional services. In this ever growing collaborative environment where a hybrid method of outsourcing and privatizing of government services has become the norm, local government professionals must be current with the changing legal requirements and expectations involved with seeking and contracting for professional services. Often, local governments find themselves in the news when even the hint of impropriety is involved in this aspect of the purchasing process. Attorneys Jo Thacker with the law firm of Broad and Cassel, and Jan Everett with AECOM, will present a very informative program, specifically designed for Florida local governments. This is a must-attend program for managers and their key purchasing staff. The session will allow ample opportunity for attendees to ask questions and deal with “real examples” of challenges facing their agencies.
Speakers:
- Jo Thacker, Attorney, Broad and Cassel
- Jan Everett, AECOM
