Most members are familiar with the “Public Management Matters” campaign FCCMA undertook in 2013. Similar to ICMA’s “Life, Well Run” we are focusing on the important difference professional management makes within Florida’s cities and counties. President Jill Silverboard appointed a task force, chaired by Jim Hanson that is working on the initiative. We will be featuring several articles about the campaign and also making requests of you, as members, to help spread this message statewide. Please take note of these requests: you are a very important component in this effort!
As professionals working to uphold the prestige of our positions in cities and counties, we encounter the positive results of professional management in action on a daily basis. The FCCMA is now turning to you, our active members, to share some of these great examples with us. We will be working over the next few weeks to build “case studies” of professional management in action, that we can use as an organization to spread the word.
