ICMA works directly with citizens’ groups that promote the adoption/retention of the council-manager form of government or the creation of positions of professional local government management during form of government challenges. Following results of these ballot measures, ICMA publishes a From the Ballot Box article in the newsletter. The article describes each campaign, provides election results and notes ICMA’s participation with any financial disbursement from the ICMA Fund for Professional Management. The From Ballot Box article also includes campaign results where ICMA did not provide assistance but learned of them through online articles, if applicable.
Three communities held ballot questions pertaining to form of government this past spring. Those communities were in Florida, Pennsylvania and Oregon. The link to the article is provided below.
