Register today for the Florida City and County Management Association’s Osceola County Onsite Training Session which will be held January 24, 2014 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Eastern at Osceola Board of County Commission Chambers, 1 Courthouse Square, Suite 4700 in Kissimmee. The title of the training is: “Service Outsourcing and Consolidation Initiatives: Lessons Learned and a Template for Success.”
The great recession is behind us…but the demand for services and the challenges to responsibly fund these services has never been greater. The terms “outsourcing” and “consolidating” create both positive and negative images depending upon one’s experience. This FCCMA training session will examine both terms from a “practical” perspective. Session attendees will hear lessons learned from city and county professionals and will be asked to share their own stories and experiences with others in attendance. In addition, current practices, constraints, and useful templates will be provided. This is a must attend session for anyone considering outsourcing or consolidation in the coming year.
The speakers for this session are: Carl Schwing, Bonita Springs City Manager, Howard Tipton, Brevard County Manager and Dave Barnett, Osceola Library Services Manager.
The ICMA Practice Area is Practice Area 3: Functional and Operational Expertise and Planning.
