The Florida Local Government Coalition was developed to advocate for local governments by educating residents and sharing resources among its members. Recently, the coalition launched a public awareness campaign to help Floridians understand, appreciate and support local governments and the services and values these governments bring to millions of lives each day. This public awareness campaign is called “Local Works.” This is an opportunity for coalition members to educate and interact with their communities by celebrating the trusted services that local governments provide. Local Works Day was launched by the coalition, and the goal is that all local government association partners, including the Florida City and County Management Association, will participate in a unique and meaningful way.
The Coalition is putting together a media release by the end of the week and would like to include any activities that your city will be doing for the local works day. If you have specific Local Works Day plans, would you please email them to Lynn Tipton, FCCMA Executive Director at ltipton@flcities.com ASAP so that your city’s plans can be incorporated into the news release.
