Over 90 FCCMA members and sponsors participated in the FCCMA 2013 Winter Institute. Felicia Logan, ICMA Director of Leadership Development facilitated the day-and-a-half event. She closed Friday’s session by bringing the conversations full circle and guided attendees in developing a personal action plan of “take aways.” The picture is from the coaching session on Friday.
There were three provocateurs who led the sessions on Thursday. Joe Coury of Joe Coury Effective Strategies, opened with the questions: As a local government manager, how do you show up each day? He covered disciplines of leadership and confronted participants to think about how they define and manage their roles as leaders in ways that are good for them personally and reflect well on the organization and community.
Deirdre Macnab, Florida League of Women Voters President, led the second conversation segment by sharing the transformational story of the League of Women Voters and posed the question: As a leader of organizational culture and change, how do you step up?
Joe Mazurkiewicz, BJM Consulting, closed Thursday’s session with a conversation on leading with ethics and innovation. He asked the question: How do you stay up as a leader and a manager?
FCCMA would like to thank the following Winter Institute sponsors: Tampa Bay Trane, Siemens, Wade Trim, Management Partners, Jones, Edmonds & Associates, Severn Trent Services, Honeywell, Government Services Group and Florida Business Watch.
