It’s that time of year again when the scholarship and awards applications are due.
Are you a student in public administration or related degree at a Florida-based university? If you will be enrolled in either Summer 2013 or Fall 2013 then you may be eligible for the B. Harold Farmer Scholarship. The recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship and all related costs to attend the FCCMA Annual Conference. The conference will be held May 22-25, 2013 at the Orlando Hilton. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m., February 11, 2013.
Are interested in attending the FCCMA Annual Conference? Then you may be eligible for one of two scholarships.
The scholarship in memory of Raymond C. Sittig is open to all FCCMA members. This scholarship will be given to a recipient who writes an essay on the importance of home rule. The scholarship will provide the recipient with a complimentary conference registration and a complimentary sleeping room at the conference hotel for the length of the event. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m., February 4, 2013.
The other conference scholarship is the Emerging Leaders Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to public administration students and entry-level professionals (budget analysts, management analysts, interns and assistants) on the basis of commitment to city/county management, career goals, affiliation to FCCMA, and financial need based on either salary or the organization’s ability to support the cost to attend the Annual Conference. The scholarship includes a complimentary conference registration, a complimentary hotel room at the conference hotel for the length of the event and a complimentary one-year membership to FCCMA. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m., February 18, 2013.
